We moved to our new training space to Jätkäsaari (Itäinen Vaihdekuja 8) in June 2015. This was a big decision for us, and keeping the training space nice and tidy requires a lot of work, but the change was needed in the ever worsening situation of sports venues in Helsinki: now our practising times and number of members are no longer limited by the venue.

We built two full-sized flat tracks on the concrete floor in the 5th floor of “the Bunker”, and a small “locker room”. We have had good time there so far, and we are happy that also the Kallio Rolling Rainbow, Tampere Rollin Bros and Mens Team Finland have found their way to our crib.

We are happy to offer training shifts to other derby leagues as well -we feel that it is our duty to support the Finnish derby scene this way. The space is ideal for bootcamps, as there are two tracks, the location is good and the transportation is easy -especially for the coaches coming from abroad. We work hard to have a nice venue for you to practise the sport you love with reasonable costs.

If you are interested in having regular practises in the Bunker, or if you are looking for a place to have a bootcamp, a small tournament or other event, please contact us (info (at) helsinkirollerderby.com)!

Wanna practise on your own?

We are arranging these so-called “day shifts”, were you can skate at your own terms! These shifts will be organised when ever there are unsold shifts in the calendar, and we are announcing them in a specific Facebook-group called BUNKKERI -Roller Derby Center Helsinki. Just ask to join the group to hear more!

Bunkkeri

How can I find my way there?!??

It can be a bit tricky, so reserve enough time on your first visit.

If you are using public transportation, tram number 9 stops right in front of Bunkkeri. In fact, the stop is called “Bunkkeri”! There you need to walk around the building (there are some peculiar looking parking lots and fences, but just bravely walk through those). You can follow the signs that say “Paintball Sissos” (they are our upstairs neighbours).

If you are coming by car, it might be easiest to drive from Ruoholahti via Länsisatamankatu. Again, you can follow the Sissos-signs. There are some construction works going on, so the route keeps changing a bit, but at the moment you end up in a “roundabout”,and then you should already see the big concrete building.

The door is on a loading bridge, and it has our logo on it. From there you enter to a staircase, and then you just climb to 5th floor (yes, that IS a good warm up for you!) -the door has our name on it.
